A committee, led by Lord Parker, which in 1972 reported on the methods used by the security forces in interrogating detainees in Northern Ireland. Two members of the committee, Lord Parker and John Boyd-Carpenter, held that the interrogation techniques could be justified in exceptional circumstances, but the third member, Lord Gardiner, say that such methods were not morally justifiable.
