CAIN Access Statistics

* Material is added to this site on a regular basis, information on this page may change.

There have been over 26.7 million visits to the CAIN site and these visitors have generated over 94.8 million page views (image files are not counted). These figures reflect quite a high level of use being made of the material at the site. Detailed monthly figures are provided in the tables below. Approximately one third of users are from Britain and Ireland; one third from the USA; and one third from Europe and the rest of the world. The user statistics would indicate (see yearly table and chart below) that there was a downturn in the number of visits to the site beginning in June 2006. Intervening computer caches may be partly responsible for this reduction in recorded use of the site. There was an increase in users since the middle of 2019 and further increases during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

[A new CAIN server was installed on 24 May 2006. User statistics on the 'old' CAIN server were generated using the WUSAGE 6.0 program. Statisitics on the 'new' server are generated using the AWStats program. Statistics from these two programs are contained in the tables below.]
